After Breakfast, proceed to Anuradhpura
Do a city tour of Anuradhapura. Commanding a rich Sri Lankan heritage, Anuradhapura is one of
the greatest and oldest civilizations in the world spanning over 1300 years in its peak - avows of
being the greatest city of ancient Sri Lanka following its reign as the first capital. The sapphire of its
crown is certainly the Sri Maha Bodhi - the sacred Bo sapling extracted from the tree under which
Lord Buddha attained enlightenment - standing more than 2200 years in its pride. Stroll through the
sacred trails of the venerated city to adore the legacy that interweaves Ruwanweliseya - the gigantic
dagoba resting alongside the Basawakkulama Tank - shading the Samadhi Buddha Statue &
Isurumuniya Rock Temple that empower the culture, heritage and supremacy of arguably the
strongest kingdom in Sri Lankan history.
Transfer to Mihintale.
This is the holy land which sheltered the first Buddhist sermon by Arahath Mahinda to King
Devanampiya Thissa, when the Poson full moon brightened a forest used by the king himself for
hunting. Walk passing a massive cooling fountain and head towards the renowned staircase of the
temple. Feel the coolness of granite slabs as you shift from the ruins of a hospital to Kantaka Stupa
built in 1st century B.C. enriched with magical hands of the Sri Lankan stone carver. Step into the
courtyard and towards its left sitting calm, is the refractory.
On completion, transfer to Anuradhpura
After breakfast proceed to Polonnaruwa
Poḷonnaruwa is the main town of Polonnaruwa District inNorth Central Province, Sri Lanka. Kaduruwela area is
the Polonnaruwa New Town and the other part of Polonnaruwa remains as the royal ancient city of theKingdom
of Polonnaruwa.
The second most ancient ofSri Lanka's kingdoms, Polonnaruwa was first declared the capital city by
King Vijayabahu I .
The Ancient City of Polonnaruwa has been declared a World Heritage Site.
After breakfast, proceed to Sigiriya for village Tour
You will be starting your Sigiriya Village Tour at 10:30 am. You will be provided with directions to the village, where you
will be met by your tour guide at the time of starting. You will have a quick walk around the village while your guide
speaks to you about village life.You will begin the first of your activities at approximately 10:45 am. The oxen cart is
commonly used as the primary mode of transport in Sri Lankan villages. You will have a 15 minute oxen cart ride,
ending at the banks of an artificial reservoir.
From this point, you will continue on to a 15 minute traditional catamaran ride. The area has many types of aquatic and
plant life. You may be able to catch sight of an occasional crocodile or water monitor as you glide along. Another
possible sighting are cormorants and other waterbirds. After you enjoy your time with nature, you will be deposited on
a bank adjoining some paddy fields.
These seasonal paddy cultivations, also called ‘Chena’ cultivations, are dependent on the two major monsoon rain
periods that take the place of winter in Sri Lanka. The walk through the fields will allow you to see the paddy cultivation
first-hand. This quick tour will last 15 minutes and your guide will update you with more information about the local
methods of rice cultivation. You will then move back to the village and be introduced to a local, who will give you a half
hour cooking demonstration on traditional Sri Lankan cooking. The demonstration will also allow you to make your own
attempt at cooking a Sri Lankan dish.
You will be having lunch right after at 12:15 pm. Lunch will be a buffet of perfectly cooked rice with 6 traditionally
cooked Sri Lankan curries and fresh fried fish. You will also have a green salad and crunchy papadum, practically an
essential addition for meals in most Sri Lankan and Indian homes. You will be eating on woven trays with clean lotus
leaves on top. Your food which will be cooked in the traditional way, in clay pots over wood fires.After the rather
relaxing meal, you can spend some time in the village at your ease. Your tour guide will finish off your tour at 1:30 pm
at the Sigiriya Village square.
After Early breakfast climb the 5 th century A.D Rock Fortress. See the mural paintings of “Heavenly Maidens” over
1500 years old, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock. Historians say originally there were close to 500
paintings but today only 19 exist. Also visit the water and rock gardens and the King’s bath on the 600 feet palace
fortress.
After proceed to Kandy. En route visit the famous Rock Cave Temples at Dambulla, the most visited monastery. It
is the most impressive cave temple in Sri Lanka, with five caves under a vast overhanging rock, carved with a drip
line to keep the interiors dry. There are images of the Buddha, and Gods and Goddesses. There are innumerable
painted sculptures, including a life size effigy of the last Kandyan king and much older statues of Hindu gods.
After visit a Batik Factory and a Spice Garden at Matale. Here you would be shown the different varieties of spices
grown and demonstration of their use.
Continue to Kandy…….
After breakfast, Visit the Century old Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, with its amazing verities of trees, plants
and flowers. Reputed to be one of the best in the world with it’s hundreds of verities of Roses and Orchids.
Late afternoon tour the City of Kandy including visits to the Art and Crafts Centre, Gem Museum and Lapidary,
and the world famous “Temple Of The Tooth Relic Of Lord Buddha”
Evening view a “Kandyan Folkloric Dance” performance.
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara-Eliya.
Nuwara-Eliya – The “Little England” of Sri Lanka. The journey will take you through some of Sri Lanka’s beautiful
scenic locations. Enjoy the drive through green carpeted areas of tea plantations. Nuwara-Eliya nesting below
Pidurutalagala, Sri Lanka’s highest mountain is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls &
Tea Plantations – offers beauty unlimited.
After visit a Tea Plantation and Factory & taste a fresh Cup of Ceylon Tea.
Arrive in Nuwara-Eliya.

Late afternoon sightseeing tour of Nuwara-Eliya, during site seeing you can visit several Fruit & Vegatable Farms
around Nuwara-Eliya.
After breakfast proceed to Bentota. En route visit Kitulgala, Kitulgala is a small town in the west
ofSri Lanka. It is in the wet zone rain forest, which gets two monsoons each year, and is one of the
wettest places in the country. Nevertheless, it comes alive in the first three months of the year,
especially in February, the driest month. TheAcademy Award-winning "The Bridge on the River
Kwai" was filmed on the Kelani River near Kitulgala, although nothing remains now except the
concrete foundations for the bridge (and, supposedly, the submerged train cars that plunged into
the river in the climactic scene). Kitulgala is also a base for white-water rafting, which starts a few
kilometres upstream.
Continue to Bentota.
Bentota is a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Its long Bentota Beach stretches north,
where it becomes a sandy strip known as Paradise Island, parallel to Bentota Lagoon. Coral-rich
dive sites include Canoe Rock. On Bentota River, centuries-old Galapota Temple has a large
Buddha statue. Southeast is Lunuganga, the estate and gardens of architect Geoffrey Bawa.
