Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of
Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which
houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important
role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the
country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due
to the temple.
By Evening view a “Kandyan Folkloric Dance” performance.
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo.
En route visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya & The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.
In Pinnawela, see the bottle feeding of baby Elephants. See them at play. Accompany them to a
river close by to see them having their daily bath.
Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central
Province of Sri Lanka. It attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is
renowned for its collection of orchids.
Continue to Colombo.
By late evening visit the Dutch Hospital in the centerpiece of the vibrant Fort. This colonial-era
complex dates back to the early 1600s. Lavishly restored, it is home to shops, cafes and restaurants
run by some of Colombo’s best operators. Enjoy a pause for a cold drink or a cool beer amid the
incredibly thick columns of its arcades.
After breakfast, proceed to Colombo on sightseeing & shopping tour of Colombo.
Observing the old Parliament, the colonial buildings in the Fort area, the residential areas and the
BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall). The tour continues with a visit to
Captains Garden Hindu Temple, Colombo Museum and the Independence Square [locations could
be adjusted on Request].
Shopping is never an end in Colombo. Shopping tour inclusive of a visit to the Majestic City
shopping Complex, ODEL Unlimited Dress Boutique, House of Fashion, Ceramic cooperation show
room (Noritake), Barefoot Gallery and Lakmedura handicraft Emporium & “The Factory Outlet”
Store.
Return to hotel by evening.
After Breakfast, check-out from hotel & proceed to the Airport to take the connecting flight on time.
